Amazing Honey Garlic Chicken Wings Recipe

Honey Garlic Chicken Wings are perfectly sweet and savory at the same time! Better than take-out, try this dish for a finger-licking good meal! Everything you’d ever want in a chicken wing, plus they’re baked, not fried!

Amazing Honey Garlic Chicken Wings Recipe

They are my guilty pleasure! They are flavorful, fun to eat, and they make for a good appetizer, just like Crispy Potato Wedges, BLT Potato Salad, and Pear Salad! Serve this dish along with these other recipes and you get yourself a nice quick meal!

This Honey Garlic Chicken Wings recipe requires no frying, unlike other recipes. In this recipe, the chicken wings are seasoned and baked to perfection, then, tossed in a sweet and savory sauce.

What comes out are tender pieces that are moist on the inside and perfectly caramelized and sticky on the outside. They make for a great finger food which you can snack on or turn into a complete meal by pairing with carbs and fiber.

Amazing Honey Garlic Chicken Wings Recipe

Unlike breasts, this part of the chicken is easier to cook as it dries out much slower. Also, though the breasts have fewer calories, the wings have more flavor, thanks to the fat content. A piece has roughly around 43 calories, with 36% attributed to fat.

Aside from that, it contains zero carbs and the rest of the calories are attributed to protein.

How to make honey garlic sauce:

This is quite easy! All you need to do is combine all the sauce ingredients in a pan. Allow the mixture to boil and then, let it simmer steadily over lower heat for about 10 minutes until it thickens.

Remove it from the heat when it starts to coat the back of a spoon. Set it aside until later use.

  • Prep the oven: Preheat it to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. The high temperature is needed to crisp up the chicken.
  • Season: Get the wings and pat them dry completely. Season them with the spices and seasonings listed in the
  • recipe card below, then, brush them with olive oil.
  • Bake: Bake them for about 35 minutes, turning them at the 20th-minute mark to cook evenly on both sides.
  • Toss: Prepare the sauce and toss each piece in it until fully coated.
  • Bake again: Put them in the oven again for 10 minutes, turning at the 5th-minute mark to cook evenly on both sides.
  • Serve: Allow the dish to cool, tossing from time to time to coat each piece with the sauce that starts to thicken as it cools. Then, serve with your favorite dip.

How long to bake honey garlic chicken wings?
This recipe prescribes that the oven be set at 425 degrees Fahrenheit and baking will take roughly around 25 to 30 minutes. The skin will crisp up in this setting.

But if you want to bake with a sauce, then, you can lower the temperature to 350- or 375-degrees Fahrenheit. In these settings, the baking will be longer at around 50 to 70 minutes.

Recipe tips:

  • When reheating, simply bake them again using the original recipe settings. The only requirement is that the thickest part of the meat must reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit for it to be safe for consumption. If you are reheating frozen ones, thaw them first and allow them to rest at room temperature for about 15 minutes before baking again.
  • Serve them with oven-roasted sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, or brown sugar roasted carrots for a complete meal.
  • If you want the skin to crisp up when you make this dish, make sure to dry the pieces. Aside from patting them dry and salting them, refrigerate the meat overnight in the fridge to further allow any moisture to dissipate.

Sweet and Spicy Asian Noodles

These Sweet and Spicy Noodles are a Thai inspired fast, easy weeknight dinner that can be ready and on the table in just 20 minutes! It’s the best quick noodle bowl.

Sweet and Spicy Asian Noodles

How about a dinner that is super easy, super quick AND will leave you wanting to lick the pan clean? You’ve got to try these Sweet & Spicy Asian Noodles! I love any dinner that incorporates veggies and still has the kids gobbling it up! This is so versatile, you can just add so many different veggies that you either A. know your family will love or B. that you want to get them to eat so you add them to this super amazing sauce.

I’m not usually much into noodles, but I really loved this meal. I think the sauce won me over plus I packed it full of zucchini which I happen to love.

Sweet and Spicy Asian Noodles

Sweet and Spicy Asian Noodles

I also love things like this that have the competing flavors that offset each other so well. If this was just spicy or just sweet there’s not way it would work (isn’t there a commercial about that?). Anyway, I just love the pineapple juice/Sriracha combo. I’m going to be putting this idea to work on some other dishes as well.

The longest part of this recipe is waiting for the water to boil to cook the noodles. Then it’s just heating some oil in a pan, tossing in your sauce to give the garlic a quick cook, and then adding your cooked noodles and then the cilantro, peanuts, green onions, and carrots. You could also add a protein like chicken or shrimp!

Sweet and Spicy Asian Noodles

I usually gauge how good a meal is by how long the leftovers last. When my husband said they don’t last past breakfast the next day, I knew they were really freakin’ good. These are right up there with our 15 minute Garlic Fried Noodles and now that I know my family has a deep love for Sriracha like her parents, we’ll definitely be making these noodles on the regular. I’m sure it’ll be on my list this week as I get back home and back into the regular routine!

HOW TO MAKE STEAMED DUMPLINGS

Making dumplings is really not so hard and you can get all the ingredients from regular stores: dumpling wrappers, ground pork, etc.

To me, the slightly difficult part is the folding or pleating of dumplings, an easy skill that just requires some practices and training.

Steamed Dumplings Recipe

If you are new to making homemade dumplings, you can just fold the dumplings into half moon shape. Soon enough, you will become more comfortable with the folding.

Don’t forget, practice makes perfect for folding these dumplings.

THE BEST FILLING FOR STEAMED DUMPLINGS

I love my dumplings filled with ground pork and some shrimp. If you don’t eat shrimp, you can always make the dumplings with ground pork only.

Steamed Dumplings Recipe

Most Chinese dumplings are made with pork only, but since I love shrimp, I added some shrimp. However, not everyone eats shrimp dumplings so feel free to add the protein of your choice!

HOW DO YOU MAKE CHICKEN TERIYAKI SAUCE?

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

To make super simple, and totally delicious teriyaki sauce, combine soy sauce, water, garlic, ground ginger, rice vinegar, and crushed red pepper flakes in a sauce pan. Bring mixture to a boil, then add a corn starch slurry (corn starch dissolved into water or soy sauce) to thicken the sauce. Stir for just 1-2 minutes until thickened, then remove from heat and stir in sesame seeds. That’s it! Perfect teriyaki sauce you can use immediately, or store in a jar in the fridge for up to 3-4 weeks. You can also use this sauce as a marinade for teriyaki chicken, shrimp, steak, or veggies.

HOW DO YOU MAKE CHICKEN TERIYAKI?

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

To make the best chicken teriyaki, first make the sauce by combining the sauce ingredients over medium high heat, bring to a boil then add a corn starch slurry to thicken the sauce, and remove from heat. Place chicken in a large baking dish or rimmed baking pan. Pour half of the teriyaki sauce over the chicken, then bake at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes until cooked through. Drain the pan of excess liquid, then pour remaining teriyaki sauce over the chicken and serve.

WHAT IS A GOOD SIDE FOR TERIYAKI CHICKEN?

Homemade teriyaki chicken goes great with steamed white rice, or chicken fried rice. The rice soaks up some of the extra teriyaki sauce and makes a perfect companion to the chicken. More side dishes for teriyaki chicken include roasted Asian vegetables, lettuce wraps, hot and sour soup, or cream cheese wontons.

Authentic Chinese Dumplings

Chinese dumplings are fun and satisfying, and they bring so much joy and laughter to friends and family gatherings. Chinese Dumplings are one of my favorite delicacies.

Authentic Chinese Dumplings

If the word ‘authentic’ evokes feelings of endless hours in the kitchen or ingredients requiring a trip cross country, fear not.

I’ve enjoyed learning about traditional Chinese cuisine compared to the Americanized dishes, one of which are dumplings.

Did you know that the expertise of a dumpling maker comes with how many folds they are able to crease in a single dumpling? There are also endless varieties of ways to fold a dumpling. My friend uses the “potsticker” fold.

After the dumplings making scene in Crazy Rich Asians, I’m sure a lot more people are aware of the long history and family significance of not only folding dumplings, but the dumpling filling.

Authentic Chinese Dumplings

My buddy shows us how to do an eight creased potsticker, but some of the masters can you use this same size wrapper and pinch 16! Different folds are preferred for different cooking methods, like triangular for deep frying or the “purse” and “nurse cap” for steaming.

In order to do the fold, hold the filled dumplings in the palm of your hand and using your thumb and forefinger, pinch together the folds. Don’t worry if you can’t do eight. I was only able to get about five.

Pinching the folds will not be the most challenging part of making your own Authentic Chinese Dumplings though, it will be finding circular wonton wrappers, sometimes sold as wonton skins.

Authentic Chinese Dumplings

We get ours at a local Chinese grocery store, most cities will have at least one. After that, the rest of ingredients are pretty mainstream.

We used both pork and shrimp for filling our dumplings, but you can omit either, if you’d like. If you take out the ground pork, the filling won’t be as cohesive, as the mixture and the fat helps to hold it all together.

Make Authentic Chinese Dumplings for an appetizer or as an entree, a regional favorite in Detroit. You can also make them ahead of time and freeze for 3-4 months.
